Under-14 Girls player Maddie Campbell has been selected to train with the junior women’s futsal team in Spain next year.
Maddie was selected to train with the junior women’s futsal team on Sunday August 4 courtesy of the Elite 96 program.
The academy will run for two weeks between March 3 to March 11 next year held in Costa Brava.
The academy will include a mini tournament, ‘The Top 12 Cup,’ with players from Europe, United States and South America.
Maddie said she was shocked at her selection.
“An email came through two weeks ago and mum called me over to read it. I was shocked,” she said.
“I was really excited and very surprised to be selected. I can’t wait to go and play.”
Maddie said she is looking forward to improving herself as a player in the academy and seeing her favourite player Lionel Messi.
“I am looking forward to learning new skills, meeting other players, and bettering myself,” she said.
“Also, I can’t wait to watch Messi play live.”
“We get to go to a Barcelona game when there.”
“He’s one of my favourite players in the world.”
To get Maddie to Spain, the Campbell family are also looking to get sponsors to help with a raffle/auction.

The Under 14 boys meet ladder leaders Doncaster Rovers for the second time this season with our Under 14 boys coming from an impressive 9-2 victory over Collingwood City, while the Doncaster Rovers are also coming off a 10-1 victory over Monash City.

Our Under 14 Boys have had a great season thus far with seven wins and two losses including an impressive 9-2 victory over Collingwood City courtesy of a superb second half. Currently in second place and only four points behind ladder leaders Doncaster Rovers, they will be looking for nothing less than three points at the Don Road Complex.
Doncaster Rovers (LBWWW)
The Doncaster Rovers have had an excellent year including eight wins, one loss and two draws for the season. Coming off an impressive 7-1 victory over Collingwood City, the Doncaster Rovers were able to secure yet another very good win last weekend, with a 10-1 victory over Monash City. Sitting on top of the table, the Doncaster Rovers will be looking to continue their ascendancy with maximum points against the home side.
The last time these two teams met was in Round 4 where the Doncaster Rovers defeated Healesville 4-1 at Anderson Park.

The Under-14 Girls meet ladder leaders Mooroolbark SC for the second time this season with the girls coming from a 2-1 victory over Riversdale, while an undefeated Mooroolbark SC are coming from a 1-1 draw with the Monbulk Rangers.

The Under-14 Girls have had a solid season thus far with eight wins and three losses for the season. Coming from a convincing 3-0 victory over the Wonga Wizards, the girls were able to secure a narrow 2-1 victory over bottom of the table Riversdale courtesy of a brace from Kiera Steventon. Now currently third on the table and two points behind second placed Chisholm United, the girls will be looking for nothing less than three points over an undefeated Mooroolbark who are due for a loss.
Mooroolbark SC (WWBWD)
The Mooroolbark Soccer Club Under-14 Girls have had a stellar season this year with nine wins and one draw. Coming from a 3-1 victory over Glen Waverley, the girls secured their first draw for the season against the Monbulk Rangers. Currently undefeated and sitting on top of the table, the girls will be looking to continue their ascendancy with maximum points against the hosts.’
The last time these two teams met was in Round 4 where Mooroolbark secured a narrow 1-0 victory over Healesville at Esther Park Reserve.
The Healesville Under-14 Boys will take on Riversdale for the second time this season for a chance to go on top of the table after an impressive win over ladder leaders Montrose SC, while Riversdale will be looking to remain in fifth position with maximum points over the Reds’ after securing a 2-2 draw against the Croydon City Arrows.
Coming from a 2-2 draw with the Croydon City Arrows after a goal from the Doncaster Rovers in the 50th minute last weekend to secure the equaliser, the hosts’ will be looking to provide another competitive effort and take home all three points against the Reds’ to remain in fifth position.
The Healesville Under-14 Boys have had an impressive season with four wins in the past five matches. After a disappointing 3-1 loss to the Croydon City Arrows three weeks ago, the Reds’ have been able to bounce back in impressive fashion with a 6-2 victory against Monash City, and a narrow 1-0 victory over ladder leaders Montrose SC last weekend courtesy of an Eden Reed winner in the second half. Now only one-point behind top position, the boys will be looking for nothing less than three points when they meet Riversdale away from home.

There are two players at the age of 21 allowed to play, but can’t be on the same time unless one is goalie.
